Hi Everyone!
I am a newbie....of course! But I am not new to Camaros. I recently bought a members car (2010camaroRS) and I am throwing a 2099 code and when I reset it...well it comes back after 60 to 80 miles. I was thinking about putting extended bungs on the rear sensors? It is the only code it is throwing. I have 60 days to get it through emissions so I am trying to get this resolved. Thanks in advance!

Kevin - you gotta help us out. What is code 2099? I don't have the list in front of me, my OBD tester is at home.
We'll get you going so you don't feel like Chris sold you a lemon. I'll put you on the CT Members thread too if you haven't checked it out to see where we are all located.

It's a code for the shorty headers. Oxygen sensor I think. A trifecta tune will get rid of that.
Post pics of your ride please. |

There's a place in Htfd that does Trifecta tune, 860 967-2574, ask for Mike, also J&M in Manchester does emissions and can tune Camaros

2099 is the bank 2 fuel trim reading too rich. I know Chris had this on this car when he owned it.

I had all 4 go on my Ram pickup, some twice and I only have 80k on it. My 2 cents, buddy! If you were closer, I'd do it for you.

If CT only had straight highways and interstates i'd say your close enough in that small state wherever you are but after driving to al's in May i've found you can be 40 miles away and over 1 1/2 out. I like your idea on replacing the o2 sensor alot of dealerships will do that on installed exhaust systems when a code go's or they damage an o2 sensor they just cut out the whole sensor and weld in a new one.

Honestly i would just put the stock manifolds back on and never worry about it again. Can always change up the exhaust some more to get the sound back the way it was.
But a constant check engine light would tick me off after a few times! Congrats and welcome.

For the cost of replacing the manifolds just get a tune. Unlike the v8 cars the v6 computer doesn't keep count of how many times its been flashed. All v8 get a light from headers and some not most v6 cars get a light.
