When ordering my car what questions should I ask?

Well, its almost time to order the car (2SS) and I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on things I should ask or get straight before I pick a dealer? I think the bigest thing is Allocation numbers, MSRP, and so on. Anything you can add please do. Wish me luck.... Also, do dealer get new allocation numbers as the months progress?

Ask if the dealer has allocation and when you can expect GM to pull your order. Also be sure to get your order workbench number (ask for a printout). Get everything in writing with all signatures.

It's all about allocations ... You will find that here in Florida orders are very slow to get picked up .... Don't know why either, maybe because it's a retirement state or tourism..... We have 5 of the most populated counties in the country, but yet we still sit and wait longer than most.... Be prepared !!!

Don't give up, and have plenty of patience! I've heard that a lot of the Florida dealers aren't too receptive to selling at MSRP.

I was reading another thread where they said to ask for allocation and then watch them put in the order. If they have allocation it should go right in.... So I have read. Also read that Quote "and insist that they can get your car to "2000- ALLOCATION" in a week or two" Does this sound right?

Allocation is weekly. IIRC, they can submit on Tuesday (if they have allocation that week) and have until Thursday to make any changes to the order. After whatever Thursday, you should see event code 2000 (or higher).

That being said, ABSOLUTELY do NOT walk out the door unless you have the price in writing and that they must sell you the car when it arrives in writing (stops them from pulling any "fast ones" since legally it is their car whether you ordered it and have a confirmation number or not), your position in their line in writing (if they don't have open allocation right when you order), your order entered into the system while you watch with your OrderWORKBENCH showing s 6-digit confirmation number and an event code of 1100 and also showing SRE (sold RETAIL) as opposed to the "stock" order code.

That should cover any crap that could possibly happen. Most likely it won't but why take even the small chance?

As far as insisting that you get to 2000 (or higher) in a week's time, you can insist all you want and it won't mean a hill of shit if they don't have available allocation from Chevy. The key at any time is to know what their CONSENSUS number for the current month is and how many of those cars have been "pulled" using weekly allocation. At the end of each month, they agree to a consensus number with Chevy which is how many cars they will get to order the next month TOTAL.

Allocation (of that consensus) is not necessarily "evenly" spaced. If their consensus for the upcoming month of October is 6, they could have none pulled week 1, 4 pulled week 2, none pulled week 3, and 2 pulled week 4. Just an FYI.

Any other questions?

K im lost!! someone pleas help!!!

My salesman put my order in he then put the order together and brought the print out and it had the total price of $30,360 and the options i wanted the price online came out to be 300 less then what they had on the paper when i placed the order so did i get ripped off? when i called to ask where the three hundred is coming from he said we dont lie and cheat our customers and that if i felt something isnt right then they will cancel my order. i never got the explanation for the $300. I ordered a 2LT RS package Aqua Blue camaro w/ gray interior and auto transmission. Whats with people saying they r getting special pricing and supplier pricing. how can you get that?

Supplier Pricing is when you work for a company that purchases a large amount of vehicles from GM. Last year my company purchased over 1000 trucks. So my company gives me a special code that I use to purchase a new GM auto. When I last checked they only gave me about 1000 dollars of a 2SS. After adding all my options it was close to 1700 dollars in discounts. I would love to know what discounts you can combine with this. I know I will be using 1000 reward dollars from my GM credit card. also if they are still offering the 500 bucks if you refuse the 60 day return policy. So that is quite a bit off. Now I just need a few dollars off the price of the sticker from the dealer and I am set.... But I will be lucky to get that.....
