Excessive wait for delivery?
Hi all - I'm posting this because I'd like some opinions on our wait time.
We ordered a 1SS in April '09 - we still haven't received it. Any calls we've made to the dealer are usually met with silence. In the summer we called GM directly and were told: 6-8 weeks. It's been over 8 weeks since that call and any subsequent calls to the CSR we spoke to aren't returned. No one seems willing to tell us where our car is. When I read other websites or FB groups about these cars, most people seem to be getting them in 2-3 months now. We're at the 7 month mark. One last thing, we live near Oshawa - which I'm sure doesn't make a difference, but seeing them by the hundreds and never getting your car, we're close to canceling the order completely now. |

Do you have a 6 digit workbench order number? Someone might be able to tell you the status if you have it.

I would cancel and go find a dealer with one in stock and buy it and enjoy it now. We just got online, found a dealer with one we liked in stock, drove over there and came home with it. Even if you have to drive a ways it's better than 7 dang months for gods sake.
I feel your pain my friend |

Yes we do have the workbench #. I gave it to a GM exec I met a couple weeks ago, he said it looked like the dealer had put the order on a low priority status and would get back to me - no word yet. Beginning to feel like we're getting lip service from all angles, not sure who to believe anymore.

This is clealy another case of "allocation" deficiency. Your dealer either doesn't have any or has given them out to people in front of you. In either case, without that allocation you will not get your beloved camaro. I ordered mine in July (22), the dealer had allocation in August, my order was accepted in August and delivered in Sept. I waited 10 weeks. Point blank ask the dealer if he has allocation and is there 1 for you and have him prove it. You'd probably be better off finding another more reputable dealer. Good Luck and this car is worth every minute of wait. EVERY MINUTE!!!! Cheers |

May I suggest.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31115 Though Viz may not be able to check Canadian orders but, it's worth a try.

Yep it's your dealer. If he didn't lie, then I'm sure he was ambiguous about that on purpose or even left it out completely. Some dealers tend to do that. Call him with conviction and tell them to level with you about your allocation and if they have one for you. Once submitted, it really does take only about 6 to 10 weeks for build and delivery. Probably more like 6 for you since you're so close. However gm does from time to time bay cars in quality control for indefinite periods of time. But you should first find out if your order has even been accepted by gm. Ask your dealer of your event code status. If you are at 2000 or above, then you're in and likely only have 6 to 10 weeks to wait. However if you are still stuck at 1000 then it clearly means that your dealer is waiting on more allocations
