Built Motor for TT
I am in need of a long block as I destroyed my Ls3 running a bad tune. I did some research and was leaning towards a B15 .. seems as if they are on back order for a few months. Any suggestions on 8k ish alternative?

Check out Texas speed . I have had good luck so far with a short block I got from them . They also have some nice options for long blocks

I wouldn't put 1400whp worth of turbo on a car to make only 800whp. I'd go with their smaller ones and have a broader, more street friendly power band.
Also, for the $8300 the LSx 376 costs, you could have a better engine built and save money by reusing stuff from yours such as the heads if they are still good. |

I agree with Blake. Pull your old one apart and see what you can reuse. You can do 800 on little turbos and a stock ls3.

I'm also waiting for a LSX376B15 for over a month now. My motor is not broke,so I'm not in a hurry. Here it's actually cheaper to buy the crate engine than have one built here in Canada or have one built from the USA.I couldn't go wrong with the GM crate motor from my local dealer which gave me a crazy deal. $6250.00 US dollars delivered to my door.I ordered it before the price increased on march 4. Even if I'd buy a short block from the good US builders,it would end up costing me more than that by the time it gets to my door. And the LSX376B15 has been proven to take the abuse pretty well.
But if you are in the USA,you definitely have other good options and yes, probably cheaper for you to have one built from scratch than a GM LSX376B15.

Lsx block just adds weight and isnt needed for only 800hp

For under 1000whp I would highly recommend sticking with an aluminum block. Thompson 416 with warranty is THE way to go.

6.0 iron block, Wiseco -11cc pistons, lunati H beam rods, stock ls3 crank, balanced, ls3 stock heads, ls9 gaskets, ARP head and main studs, ARP 2000 rod bolts, TSP stage 3 boost cam.
Good set up for a 1000hp engine. Right around the 4k range in price.
