water cooling units

what would everyone recommend? I've found some online in previous searches but I'm curious what everyone uses.

I built my current system about 1 1/2 years ago and decided I wanted to try water cooling. Gave the Corsair H50 a try, very impressed with it so far. Easy install. House is currently about 75 F inside and cpu running approx. 95 F/ 34 C. Winter time can knock of about 10-15 degrees.

Im scared of watercool and my PC stays cool with my Coolermaster HAF case.
Besides I dont overclock, so I really dont need it...

Same here, no overclocking. I used the HAF 932 case. I used to be afraid of watercooling too. The thing I liked about the Corsair H50 was that t is all self contained. Not saying that it couldnt leak eventually, but a good majority of reviews etc, no one has had a problem.

I forgot to mention above that those temps are idle temps. I used an app called prime95 to test the system after I built it and never got temps over 140F/58C, so I would say it cools well. In

Ah, Ghost Recon fan, love Tom Clancy games. Still play the Vegas and Vegas 2, (the dang machine gun loop will drive me insane unless I am hostingthen toture the other guy). and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.

Thank you. I've been a staffer over at GR.net for close to a decade now (8 years I think). Have done lots of write-ups over there. The original Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six games were, bar none, the greatest shooters ever made.

Problem is a cooler CPU is just 1 small part of the puzzle, best to control the temp of the air going into the case. As its real hard to get below air temp, so control it in stead.

My first water cooled rig used a Koolance Exo kit. That was 2004. I have moved on to custom loops now.

What case are you using, cpu. Do you want to watercool your cpu, gpu southbridge...northbridge? Memory hdds?

The Corsair H50 is nice a kit for first timers. Or do you want to go custom. The first two pix are my first rig QX9650 @ 4.2ghz, 4gb ddr2 and an Asus Rampage Formula motherboard. I have upgraded to a i7 920 @ 4.8ghz, 6gb ddr3, Foxconn Bloodrage and 2 4870x2's

I'm selling it though. =/ I spend more time in my Camaro since I've gotten it.

I'd say it has more to do with heat displacement. Water can absolutely cool your CPU lower than air temp because it moves so much more heat off of it. A good loop though will solve heating problems for core parts (CPU, GPU, NB, SB, and RAM). But you also need to couple it with good fans too. Get the air moving in from the front and ejecting from the back. Keep the side on the case! Also try to keep the rad outside the case too. That was the one thing I never got to do with mine. Also cable management helps promote better airflow and heat distribution.

well, I'm looking into doing the whole pc, or at least majority like HDD, RAM, Cards, and cant think of other stuff possibilites. I did buy the H50 yesterday though, would I be able to run that with another cooling unit?.

You mean the Corsair H50?

If you want to WC most of your components, go custom. Build your own setup. You can pick the right cooling block for your individual components, read reviews, and get quality stuff. Building the system is pretty easy... and rewarding.
