Plastic inner door panel

Hey everyone-
My first post here...

I just noticed that on my driver's side door, the plastic clear panel
is kind of splotchy underneath. It sort of looks like there is moisture
underneath the plastic or the adhesive didn't take hold completely.

Anyone run into this issue?

What clear plastic panel are you talking about?? The one under the inner panel? If so that is a moisture barrier so I would guess some moisture on it could be considered normal.

Its the plastic panel that covers most of the inner door. It has the glowing
light stripe that runs across the top of it. My passenger door seems consistent,
but the driver's side has the splotches where it looks like moisture is evaporating
or the plastic isn't pressed against the adhesive to form a seal.

I plastic panels are clear with the paint on the inside of them. If you feel it is not up to par take it back to the dealer and ask for a new panel.

Hmm, guess I never looked that close to them yet. Yea if think theres a problem just stop by the dealership. More then likely they would need to order the part anyways.

I have the same issue described by judoka. I thought it was just my Camaro. It's not possible to take a picture of the problem . . . it's one of those things you must see in person under the right lighting conditions. The slight discoloration isn't anything major but since the car is new, I shouldn't have it at all. By the way, the build date for my Camaro is October 14, 2009. Might be just a certain number of cars at issue.

Woah. I was just about to post about this same issue. "Blotchy" is the best way to describe it. It's only on the driver's side, and you really have to see it to understand. I tried to take a picture but it doesn't show up well. I have the beige interior, so I wonder if it shows up more on the lighter color...Still pondering whether to nag the dealer about it.

Well, I will have to echo the same. Passenger door fine. Dealer/salesman stated it would be replaced. It would be covered as a warranty item. And I thought it was just mine with a "birth mark".

Mine was made at the end of November 2009.Birth marked drivers door.On a side note, it is kind of eerie how they take on a life of their on.

Interesting that it is always the driver's door. Oh well, looks like it is back to the dealer. I'm wondering if the dealer will change it out without too much coaxing...

If they replace it, ask them for the bad one and send it to me! I'll pay shipping!

Apparently, this is a widespread problem. I presume the dealer can just replace the clear insert in question rather than the entire door panel. After all, Camaros come with different types of inserts - red, fabric, silver, etc. I wonder if the replacement part will have the same issue. This could be a supplier defect so the bin parts might also have the blotchliness as well.

Anyone get theirs replaced/fixed yet?
I haven't had the chance to take my car in yet, and I was wondering
how long it would take to order the part and install.
