auto trans difference from v6 to v8?
Was there any major differences between the v6 and v8 auto transmissions? is the v8 simply a better materials made transmission? could the v6 trans computer control a v8 trans? Just thinking it might be "cheap" insurance to pull a donor v8 trans and slap it in place after the heads get done....if it's simple plug and play, not sure what differences there would be, is there internal gearing differences? thanks for any insight

Well after talking to Vince he was saying that he was seeing the same software for the V6 & V8 auto trans up to the 70k-ish numbered camaros. He said it changed sometime after that to two different software programs. Other than that I couldn't say.

the v8 6L80e trans wont bolt to the v6 engine. the v6 auto isnt even the same trans,, it is a 6l50e,, it is in the same family as the 6L80E / 6L90E but not the same
