Help with High Flow Cats and Shorties
Need a bit O' advice.
I purchased new BBK shorty headers for my SS. They came with JBA high flow cats. Problem: the holes do not perfectly match. Can I stil use them? Is it possible to bread a post screw through both and torque them down? Also here were now gaskets? Any help would be appreciated! |

Best bet would b to call the campany u bought them from if purchased together and see what they have to say before trying to make something work or call both company's seperate and ask them

^^^^ I agree, why should you have to try to make them work.......if they don't then send them back.

I would send the whole thing back, and go with ARH or DT shorties and Solo cats. I promise you will get a CEL with the JBA cats.
BTW... You are suppose to reuse the OEM gaskets, so be careful removing them.

Thanks, guys! - So BBK says their SHORTIES match up to the stock cats... They do. - JBA says their CATS match up to the stock exhaust manifolds or their own shorties... They just don't match up to each other!!! Total dissatisfaction on my end. In order for them to work now, I will need to get posts that barely fit and crank them down to each other... OR, just go with the BBK shorties only. Now sling shot says I will probably throw a CEL with the JBA's so I think that will nix them for this California guy! |

DT shorties and Solo cats was what I went with. No codes, no fitment issues.

just installed JBA shorties w/ Solo hiflow cats no problem, I wouold say to keep the BBK's and return the cats, Solo matches to the stock manifold in which most shorties have the same fitiment.
No CEL either! Good Luck |

I'd actually do the opposite. id keep the h/f cats and send back the bbk. Since shorts are nothing without them. But pair them with stock manifolds and he would get decent power from them. The ONLY reason JBA may throw codes is because they don't come with O2 extenders. SOLO does.

I would send back the BBK shorties as they are NOT California Legal even if you use them with factory cats. JBA and ARH are the ONLY companies that have a CARB number for the 2010+ Camaro. |
