2 Camaros give way to Challenger
I had a 2011 1LS in rally yellow, really enjoyed the car, so good looking, some bolt ons, then 2013 2LS, inferno orange, more bolt ons, but screwed by Chevy with that shitty rear end in the car, thousands of dollars to get any gear in the car, really disappointing.
I need more power, went back to my Chevy dealer from whom I have bought many a Chevy and find out there are no deals, no incentives, no nothing to purchase an SS????? Wow, I heard sales were down, January was a good month to buy, weathers been bad, sales slow, but NO DEALS So I have been courted by Dodge for some time, back in the day I had HEMI Ram and V8Dakota Sport, dealer tells me I can have 2014 Challenger R/T hemi 6 speed at 6 grand off sticker and they have special finance rates??!!! What the hell Chevy, So I'm driving a header orange 2014 R/T...............still love Camaros, two totally different cars, Camaro more futuristic and modern, Challenger feels like having a new 1970's muscle car, you sit up, high, see everything, actually carry passengers, and lots of power. I would say Chevy over priced the Camaro in 2000-2002, sounds like they did it again with Z28, hope they get their hearts right, Id like to own a high end Camaro some time

Problems with the challenger R/T is it is heavier than the SS and has less power. I think they look cool but to me they are not worth the money. I test drove every V8 muscle car before buying my 2SS/RS , including the Boss 302 and I liked the SS. Enjoy the Challenger though.

I would rather get a used SS. R/T is too slow for me

Agree, sadly the Z/28 may seem overpriced when compared to how its original model was in the '60s. Almost 4x the price of a base Camaro? I don't think the original z/28 was, plz correct me if I'm wrong. Sorry don't mean to hijack.
Good luck & enjoy your Dodge - hope someday the Camaro can be a good match for you!

It's like Pepsi. Pepsi is always on sale. Stuff tastes like crap so they have to give it away. Coke, you always pay full price for the good stuff.
Same thing with the Challenger and Camaro, of course you can get a deal on the Challenger.

Z/28 is not overpriced. It is not for you. It is priced for a small niche market of people who can afford it and want a street legal race car that can outrun supercars costing 3x as much at the track.
I find it hard to beleive you could not come to an agreement on an SS. Where you looking at some 1SS's ar your price point, or where you trying to gouge then on a loaded up 2SS?

sounds like you gave up too easily. there are still new 2013's out there. I picked my '13 2SS a month ago and paid 25% off MSRP with all my incentives (and 0% financing).
If you were a real GM/Camaro fan, you'd have figured out a solution. I still think Challenger is a nice car... but maybe you should just lease a car as often as you switch? |

First, you didn't try very hard if you only looked at one dealer. Two, EVERY dealer I talked to about my factory order was willing to get to at least supplier pricing on a new Camaro. Third, Chevy just increased customer cash to $1,000. Four, it's not very hard to come up with a "private offer" for another $1000 off.
Let's face facts. You just wanted something different. |

I think you just wanted a Challenger, and that's okay. If going from a LS to an SS wans't enough of a power increase for you, just say so. Unfortunately, you will wish you paid a bit more for an SS the first time you get dusted by one. ;-)

Since Challenger sales were down 30% this January from last January they really needed to knock off 6K to make what sales they did get.
Enjoy your car.

its just a car man, dont listen to all the negatives that people on here are gonna throw at you.
the Challenger is really nice, almost picked one up myself but got a better deal on the SS. Enjoy it!! |

Not sure everyone would agree with this. When buying something special like a sports/muscle car, it's not "just a car". It should be very special to the owner. If it's "just a car", buy a Kia.

Congrats on the new ride!! Put that thing on a diet and upgrade the suspension and you will be real happy. Besides, you can always come back to the Camaro! I've had 4 Camaro's since I turned 18. I'm 41 now. There were always other cars but I always came back. |
