Question Not sure on needing a tune

So would I need to have tune done with the following work being done to my LS3? And what would the cost be if I need that? I see the cost of a programmer is $300.00

Those mods are pretty minor, you won't need a tune yet

Thinking of replacing the exhaust system with headers and high flow cats next year. Where do do I go to have a tune done any service shop or suck it up and buy a programmer? Sorry for the simple questions but my other car is a 1980 TA with no ECM
Thanks.

You can go to a motorsports shop or you can buy a sct tuner from RDP Steve and get free tunes from him. I bought the sct tuner and it is well worth it.

You don't need a tune for those mods but a tune makes a world of difference especially if your car has an auto trans. And Steve is the guy to deal with it hands down!

IAT sensor placement, if different than stock location in pathway, will def call for a tune.

Otherwise....nah.

Once you add headers you will need a tune. I would highly recommend DynoSteve. Does a great job and customer service is great.

I would go with dynosteve since I believe he offers free tunes after you purchase the tuner from him and I always hear good things about him

Smile Diablo tuner and Spectre CAI

Hi,

Bang for the buck! I installed a Diablo tune (93 octane) and replaced the factory restrictive air box with a Spectre CAI from Auto anything ($140) delivered.

Total cost of upgrade: Used Tuner $250- New CAI $140 = $390

Car picked up HP, Torque, shut off DoD, Turned off Torque Management.

I would swear driving a different L99 than before Mods. Car breathes and the acceleration is strong, effortless and fun to drive! Did I mention wheels spin is a fun bonus! LOL

Good Luck
