This should be the case, however to avoid having to do the work again twice I would probably put a thin beat of sealant On both sides of the manifold insulator |

How many bolts are supposed to come in the mace kit? I believe I only got 5. If thats right, what do you use for the rear one?

for the rear bolt you use one of the OEM bolts...i believe its the medium length bolt (it was in the front on the IM).

It would be nice if these Insulators can be made with a sealant material on it so no RTV or gasket is needed. In otherwords this becomes the gasket on both sides.

theoretically they could o-ring them. like we used to do for VW cases. cut a groove around the port opening and drop an o-ring of the appropriate material and size in the groove, no gasket required!!

ahh...good question. i'll do my best to explain it with words.
put the rear bolt in the back of the IM prior to installation, leave all the other bolts out. *the install is going to be from the drivers side of the engine bay. -you should have the front of the IM in your left hand, and the rear in your right. -hold the rear bolt in place with your right hand so that the bottom of the bolt (threaded portion) is flush with the bottom of the insulator. -now you will lift the front of the IM up to about 30-45* as you slide the rear of the IM in underneath the wiper cowl. this will allow for the bolt to slide in without hanging up on the cowl. -make sure everything is lined up on the OEM gasket and your rear bolt should drop right into place. easy day. hope that makes sense. i didn't have anybody to take pics during my installs so...yeah.

glad it worked out for you. the painters tape was ventmaster. i used the IM bolts and founds some nuts that i could tighten down to secure the insulator to the IM while it cured.
