Painted V6 calipers

I've tried searching around but haven't come across much. Anyone paint their stock V6 calipers and have some pics? I don't want to run caliper covers but I'm not thrilled with the dull stock look as it sits now. I was thinking of going with the G2 kit and painting the stock ones red. I think it would tie in the red from the front and rear RS emblems on my imperial blue metallic Camaro.

I haven't done it on my Camaro, but I used the G2 kit on my Monte Carlo with success. I really like the kit, and it has held up well.

Just make sure you clean the starting surface really really well before you start.

I used the G2 kit also on my Grand Am when I had it . I haven't done the Camaro yet . Eventually I'll get around to it .

I decided to go with RED accents all over to boldly contrast my factory Blue Ray Metallic finish. I love how it turned out and painting the calipers provides another subtle accent that pops! Here's the pics you're looking for:

You need to resize them on your computer . I use Paint.net to resize pictures.

I used yellow on mine. Not sure how well you can see them in my pictures. (Snowing right now, can't take close ups). I used the G2. It holds up well, but the issue I ran into, because I was trying to do a good job, was the paint dried in the can before I could get a really good coat on all four brakes. It may be a little more expensive, but I would recommend buying two kits and do a second round after the first dries, or have more hands available to work on two or four brakes at the same time. PREP is KEY!

They recommend only 30 minutes between coats. I had no problem getting all 4 wheels up in the air, prepping and cleaning everything first, then doing the mix in the can and brushing on. By the time I made it back to the first wheel, I was doing the second coat.

Did you accidentally pre-mix before it was paint time?

The instructions say it has a 4-6 working time after being mixed. So I'm sure I'll be fine. I went ahead and ordered a kit in red. Now I Just need a break in the weather!

No, but I think I may have been taking my time (too much) to paint them the best I could. I think 4-5 hours posted by another on here is very generous. Maybe 4-6 hours until completely hardened. After the first coat I noticed the paint starting to get thicker and by the end of the second coat, it was the consistency of honey. I think it is a great product, just believe it may have been my own fault for not moving fast enough and being TOO picky......LOL!
