PLEASE don't tell me your trying to compare a Corvette to a Camaro, a Corvette's a full on sports car with two seats, a Camaro's a muscle car with four seats.

would you buy a supra with a 8 cylinder??
i was in this same situation, i will now be going to a 2lt when finances are ready, dont bash because its got a v-6, 304 hp is more than enough for a daily driver, a 69 camaro ss came with a 396 big block and only made 350 hp, full exhaust with a tune and intake should match that if not pass it. i know these are everyones opinions, but this is a camaro forum, dont bash eachother like a mustang forum. |

Regardless what you choose, take the most off the price that's possible....After 1/1/10 and 1/5/10 - things are going to change.
Now you can get supplier pricing, -$500, -$750 = BIG SAVINGS |

If you are not into the Muscle car scene then a 2LT will do the same as a 2SS. Basically all the goodies with less HP. I was going this route but jumped to the dark side at the last moment --ABM 2SS / RS. I would recommend a M6 so that you can have more fun.

I never struggled. I wanted the monster. I ordered a 2SS RS and after test driving one, I confirmed I had made the right choice.

Easy choice for me. 2SS NO RS. Save the $1200 for fuel. Your gonna need it for all the road trippin you will do. LS3 plus leather seats, equals the ultimate road tripper. Also get yourself a wintertime beater to save your investment. A $500 Toyota fits that bill easily.

I struggled as well, I made my decision by test driving the hell out of both of them. When I nailed down the financial end of it, I was able to let my heart make the final choice. For me that was the 2SS/RS.
Good luck with your choice. But, the hardest part is waiting for your car! |

Thanks for all the help . . . got my calculator out . . .
With what I am putting down, 93 premium gas instead of 87 octane, insurance difference, knowing I keep a car for at least 10 years, about 15,000 daily driving per year, the cost of driving a 2SS RS instead of the 2LT RS (both excellent cars) . . . I figure it will cost me about $200 more a month to run the 2SS RS instead of the 2LT RS . . . For those who ordered the 2SS RS instead of the 2LT RS . . . do you think it is worth $200 a month for the driving experience? Or, for those of you who went with the LT instead of the SS and have been driving your sweet ride for a while . . . are you happy with the trade off for 304HP instead of 426 HP? Any decision we all make is a trade off . . . $200 a month in the pocket for other toys (I am not taking any food off the table) or 100 more HP for 10 years . . . tough choice! I figure you all who have already made your choice and have been driving it for a while will have the best advice! |
