Magnacharger Kit Questions

Had a couple of questions regarding the magnacharger kit:

1. What exactly comes with the kit? I believe the following -- anything else:

TVS 2300 Compressor
Larger Fuel Injectors
Custom Fuel Rails
Reflash of ECU

2. Should any of these components be upgrades prior to installation?
3. Do you still need to upgrade the air intake -- (for example, buy a vararam, etc.)?

Thanks

The kit comes with an air intake that replaces the factory (the charger sits high, and the angled tube is slightly pointing downward to give it clearance below the hood), so you wouldn't need to get a VaraRam. I was wondering if the Vararam would give it some better flow?

I would think the Vararam would have a better flow.

Any suggestions on what intake to go with on the magnacharger then? Or do you think the one the kit comes with will suffice? Thanks.

Speed Inc. used the Roto CAI combined with the magnacharger tube:

The Magnuson does not come with an air intake, the supercharger inlet tube fits into the original air box.

At this time they still flash the computer for you, there is no hand held programmer as of yet. Still in the works as far as I know.

I would use the Roto-Fab intake....They are going to have a new tube for the intake which is specific for the Magna, and will be a perfect fit!!!

Since we are talking about the Magnacharger, I was looking over the install directions, and I didn't see where they modified the fuel rail brackets. I read how they were removed, and then later on, it says to reattach the modified brackets.

Also, how hard is it to take off that harmonic balancer and drill those holes for the new one. I think that's the part that makes me the most nervous. F that up, and you are screwed bigtime.

You dont have to remove the balancer, just the bolt. The kit comes with a fixture, and the proper drill and reamer and the pins. Its pretty simple, but the bolt can be a PITA the remove and re-install.
