Accident - lemonade out of lemons

Just go hit in the front passenger quarter panel and bumper by a young lady running a light. Everyone is ok.

So I'm sitting here waiting on the town truck; fender is pushed into the tire. I can tell they are going to have to replace the bumper and maybe I can make lemonade out of these lemons.

I wonder if the body shop can replace my SS bumper with a ZL1 bumper under the insurance. I like that look. Those in the know please advise.

Sorry the pic is upside down, I uploaded from my iPad.

The zl1 swap has been done due to an accident before - redjewel25 did it for sure so maybe PM her aboutwhat she went through. Should be as simple as get it appraised then buy the kit with insurance money

Front right fender.

Fenders in front, quarters in rear.

Making matters more depressing, for me, I was scheduled to have 3.91 gears put in this Friday.

I'll probably just get the SS bumper. After paying for gears, the installation kit and upcoming labor charge, better hold onto any extra money.

What's with people not paying attention to what the hell they are doing? In July while sitting at a red light a guy in some pos s-10 hits me from behind. No wonder insurance is so damn high. Instead of raising everyone's insurance due to incompetant drivers they should make these dumb asses pay for their mistakes not everyone else. <end of rant>

OP did the girl have insurance? if so you shouldn't have to pay for anything due to her mistake.

Thanks. Just trying to keep perspective. My 6 yr old was in her seat and she's ok. That'll level set a parent quick. I can fix the car.

Just take it to a shop you know for the estimate and have him add on some additional $$
