L99
I have seen on several threads reference to the "slow" L99's. What are they talking about?

L99 is the V8 used in the Automatic. Still a 367 but smaller intake and Exhaust. The LS3 you will find on the Stick shift and has about 26 more HP

Thats all on the driver. Depends on reaction time and etc.. Notice the LS3 had higher speed. So just the reaction time, with optimizing Shifting to get best acceleration.

The L99 requires a lot less accuracy and skill to get the good times. Just punch it and go. It can be improved on but it's a lot easier to power brake and punch.
Remember, your time doesn't start until you go. Unless you're racing start to finish. |
