I have a ghost in my trunk

Seriously starting to piss me off, I will come out and see my trunk popped open for no apparent reason at all, i havent pushed the button, this happened moderately when I first got the camaro in 2009 but now it is almost daily. I am a cop and sometimes I transport firearms in my trunk so i really need to know what the deal is with this, is the solenoid going out or maybe the fob?

You're probably pushing the trunk button by accident when the fob is in your pocket.

That or Shunt is trying to escape Sorry i couldn't resist the people that have been on C5 for a while will understand the joke.

But in all honestly this always happened to me. I would leave my keys in my pocket when I started walking around i would hit the trunk release and my trunk would be open for no reason. Hasn't happened to me in a while though.

Always happens to me too. Ill come outside and its popped open. I think its the sensitive button on the fob. I noticed a few times working on my truck that if my Camaro keys are in my pocket it will set off the alarm or pop the trunk of the Camaro

I had that too at times.
I'm sure I might have done it 2 out of the 12 or so times I've noticed it in 18 months.
Since I chopped off the escape mechanism (I'm in the UK) it's not happened :-O

This might help. It's a relay that requires you push the trunk release button twice to open the trunk

Hello 2010CamaroOutlaw,

Sorry you seem to keep having this issue with your trunk. I would like to investigate this situation further for you. If you could, please private message me your VIN and current vehicle mileage? I will then look into this for you.

Reggie - I can promise you there's nothing wrong with his trunk. It's just a faulty design with the fob (more common issue with us M6 guys as we have a large "trunk" button than the automatic fob as they have the "auto start" button).
