These wheels are actually a ~$2,000.00 option.

He had one ordered and the dealer was jerking him around (they lied and never actually had an allocation). He cancelled his order and got his deposit back after waiting ~8-9 weeks for delivery. The next day, three ZR2's popped up within 25 miles of us. All were exactly what he had wanted. He went and checked out all three. He decided on this one. At first, I was uncertain of the black wheels, but it looks killer in person! The cat-back exhaust has a nice rumble to it as well. Very, very nice job by GM. Finally, not just an "off-road" truck that consists of stickers and tires.

Hey, if he likes them, that is all that matters. Me personally, I love the ZR2 wheels.

They look good but seem a bit small in tube diameter.
They are installed at the dealership, but they are a standard factory option that comes on every ZR2. I am not 100% sure of they mount to the frame, but I believe they do.

All I know is, I've seen videos of the sliders taking a beating on rocks, and they didn't budge.

Yeah, on the way back from the Fest I passed a new Pewter ZR2 crewcab diesel. Looked pretty good. But would look better with a 1" bodylift and 33's..

As much as I love the ZR2, I can't get over the ridiculous price.

Ok.....with respect, what the hell? What other truck can do what this truck does within $8,000?

For a 20k discount from an option for option Raptor, I think the price is more than fair if not bordering on a bargain for the capability you get.

Within 8K.. a barebones Raptor, a Chevy fullsize 4x4 will come close in some categories and exceed in others, etc.. Tacoma TRD PRO is essentially the same but has a better resale value.

People may see this as a good value at 42K+.. but to me.. it is overpriced. There is no way, in my mind a midsize truck is worth paying 40K - 48K.

Each to their own.

Yeah, i can type a long winded response, but I'm just going to move on with a statement. You either want a mid size truck or you don't.

As for the Toyota TRD Pro...Thanks for the laugh. God that thing is ugly. Only saving grace for that is they offered it in black to hide the ugly.

The ZR2 just made it into showrooms so how can you claim the Tacoma TRD PRO has better resale value?
