I went too the dealer this morning with the intention of ordering a zl1 and was told that i would have too have an allocation and that none are available and there is a waiting list is this right he also said that there only getting one and its allready spoken for.

For those customers with ZL1 orders that have not been sent to production or are “on hand” (Event 1100), please be aware your Chevrolet dealer will learn of the status of any remaining 2012 Camaro ZL1 allocation and timing for order submission within two weeks.

Believe the initial allocations were a guesstimate of how many could be built this model year -- with the Quality Control hold and delay in shipping the first 480 produced, it might be a challenge to build all of the allocations. I wouldn't expect any additional allocations hitting dealers -- whatever they had in the beginning will probably be their final quota. I saw it quoted in a few articles after the QC hold was lifted & shipping began that GM estimates less than 3,000 2012 ZL1s will be produced.

They were going to build less than 3000 to start with. Probably less than 2000 now. IMHO

A lot of people ordered back in November or earlier. So there is a waiting line. Kind of random when your allocation goes through though.

you should find out soon enough. fbodfather said dealerships will find out about allocations within the next 2 weeks

This has nothing to do with what the OP is asking. It just means the remaining 2012 allocations that are still at 1100 will be sorted out and given new TPW's if possible. His dealer only got one 2012 allocation and it's already spoken for. Done deal for 2012...

Lot's of dealers only got one allocation... the next ones he gets will be for 2013's so get in line for one or find another dealer... hopefully now that things are moving you'll be able to get one soon. 2013 allocations start in May and builds start in June...
