Does any one know the megerments on the rally stripes, the one that runs down the front and rear bumpers. I want to have them panted.

Your better off with painted stripes. The decals are crap...they will fade, chip, peel, etc and good luck waxing the hood with them on. Smart move on your part.

Thats why i want to paint them, But i want to know the megerments so that it comes out nice.....

What is a megerment? Is that like a measurement?

I'd have to say you would be better off going with slightly larger painted stripes.....some of the pics of stripes people have had painted on this site are quite nice, but all are larger than the factory decal ones...both longer and slightly wider. I think they look better than the smaller decal ones.

I am also having mine painted on because flat black just doesnt look right, its to opague.. so i also need the MEASUREMENTS lol

and you cant make hte stripes any longer without going past the mail slot (if its SS) ... which is a completely different look because it doesnt accentuate the mail slot as much as if its just above it, and me personally, i think the mail slot gives the SS a much better look... but i will take the standard measurments and probably add an inch thickness to each stripe

What I did was print out some pictures of the stripes I wanted gave them a single dimension in this case 3" center distance between stripes and let the painter do his thing. If you want I can measure what he put on mine!!

that woudl be great... could you measure yours, in every way possible and post some pics of how it came out? (if you do please make sure theres one photo thats a dead straight on from the front from standing position so we can see hte actual width of them on the hood)

Hey guys, I will be cutting Vinyl stripes in the next few weeks. I will have a kit that goes all the way down the front and rear, as well as the factory stripes.

Yes painted on is more permanent, and can be cleared nice.

But, I use thinner LONG LIFE (9-10 year) Vinyl....no cheap crap like other people I have seen on ebay and such. So they fit tighter to the car (2Mil) and they can be changed if you get sick of them.

It all depends on your preference. I am waiting for my car to test fit all my designs and take pics. Car is coming in a few weeks.

I will offer many colors, including Matte and Gloss Black. Also I will have metallic and high metallic Blacks and other cool colors. It will cost a fraction of a paint job, and if you get sick of it you remove it.

Definitely paint if you can. I'm going to try and do it as well.

I have vinyls on my current mustang. The roof stripes are about 3 years old but are beginning to get lots of brownish spots. Plus, the stripes get scuffed, and they don't wash out. Painting's more expensive, but it's definitely the way I'm going when I get a Camaro.

If the vinyls start to wear and tear, how easy are they to remove at a later date?

i am curious to see how yours came out to mine should be painted sometime this week. would love the distance you had between the stripes
