I had the nt555r on my 18" racestars ,while they were great for wear I could not get them to hook all the time. I switched to the my et's and dropped my 60ft times down to a 1.64 that was at 460rwhp with a 3600 stall . If your only going 2 or 3 times a year there ok otherwise go with the mt right from the start, you won't regret it.

Nt555R is what I consider a good street tire that can be used at the track. A Mickey Thompson ET street is a great strip tire that can be used on the street. See the difference.

Yes! On NT555Rs my best 60' is mid 1.7s. There is a set of ET Streets in my shed on Mustang wheels that I hope will get me deep into the 1.6es. if I do get caught in the rain I'd rather be on NT555Rs but you just gotta drive slower or wait until the big rain is over. Really though as an every day tire the NT555R is a good compromise, especially with FI power.

I ran 555Rs and I could not hook them better than a high 1.7 12.2 pass. Then went to NT05Rs in 18's went 1.59 and 11.84 with them with more mods.
The 555Rs lasted a very long time, and the NT05Rs about 1/2 as many miles.
