A new camaro would be ideal for the weekend cruises and traveling to out of state shows. The practical me says to sell the z28, buy a used gen5 and start saving for college. Buy a die cast model of the z28 to ease the separation anxiety.

I walked in to the dealership and bought my 1le when my wife was 8months pregnant, rear facing car seats are a little tight and wouldn't fit behind the driver seat but it works and a stroller even fits in the trunk! Also my boy seems to enjoy the exhaust notes or something he just sits in it now and stares out the tiny little triangle window lol

I have a 2000 z28 t-top, m6, cam, tuned and full bolt ons. I just put a monster stg3 clutch and a tick master in 600 miles ago. Well, I found a new 2014 1SS, 1LE that I fell in love with. The thing is, my lady and I have a baby on the way. She also has a hard time riding in the Z because of the fact that the exhaust smells and lack of A/C makes her sick. The baby won't be able to ride in the car either once born. So we'll have to take another car when we go to shows, events, and weekend cruises. With the SS, we could go together as a family. It will NOT however be a daily family car. That's what her car and my truck are for. The thing is that I'm very attached to my Z. It was my 2nd car. I have owned it since I was 18 and put my own blood, sweat and tears into it. I'm afraid I will regret getting rid of it, but I don't have the room for both. The car is also going downhill and will need some work to have it cherry again. It would also be nice to be able to go places together as a family instead of riding in different cars. I just don't want to wake up some morning after the deal with regrets. I just want some other opinions. Thanks guys.
I tried to help clean that up for you. As far as my opinion about it, get the 1LE and don't look back. You'll be saying what Z28 after a week of ownership.

My wife is small and 5'-3", so my son and wife can fit with a rear facing car seat. If your wife is tall it isn't going to work out. Also, if your wife can't, or doesn't like driving a stick, I would get an automatic SS to have a more useful family/muscle car experience. Get rid of the 2000 and get a new, much safer, better Camaro with a good warranty.

I sold my '00 WS6 a few years ago, it was in pretty good shape and made really good power, would kill a new 5.0 or 1LE in the 1/4. I still think about that car everyday and wish I still had it. I loved that car more than any other I've owned. I love my new 1LE, but I think maybe because of all the time I spent in it and building it plus the fact you can't get a T/A anymore period is what keeps me missing it...

Thanks again guys for all the replies and @ss panther she is small 5"4 and loves driving muscle cars but only if it's a stick. She is a ford/mustang girl :/ she had a 08 gt 5 speed when we first started talking I'm slowly converting her to the right side lol. But I believe I will clean the car up put it up for sell and see what offers I get, I can always get me another 4th gen down the road when funds allow and put it up for restore or leave it stock.

Your set and home free then for a 1LE. Good luck and congrats on your upcoming child.

I had trouble reading that so tried to read the replies instead to gather what I think is going on. My opinion is to keep the car and just get an additional car that is more of the "daily family driver." Why get rid of a "toy"? I have plenty of cars that I consider "toys" and that I don't drive often. Still fun to keep and enjoy from time to time. Don't get rid of something you enjoy, just add something more practical for the regular ride.

Maybe if you fixed your exhaust people wouldn't be getting sick in your car? Just a thought...
