Why or How Did My Car Move From KS to MD?

Researching the car I'm picking up tomorrow through camaro.spasticsquirrel.com/2010old
I discovered it was originally ordered or belonged to Riley Chevy Buick in Hugoton, KS. The sticker information was added 12/24/09.

2G1FK1EJXA9179949 is now in Easton, MD

I realize dealers trade cars for customers but from KS to MD? How do these dealer to dealer moves work?

No trade. It's brand new. I've purchased from dealer in MD but spasticsquirrel shows it belonging to a dealer in KS Dec 09. Just curious why dealers would swap that far apart or whether it was originally inteaded for KS and diverted to MD.

Could be stock from some Chevy dealer that closed down? I've seen cars moved that far in that situation. No- checked and they are still in business.

Don't know - that would be unusual. The selling dealer pays for transport from the dealer he gets the car from. That trip would have been costly.

My Camaro was purchased in Idaho but was a trade from a dealership in Oregon. But the kicker is that all the information according to Onstar and GM is it was from a dealership near Chicago, IL. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my car so I wouldn't let it bother you! Enjoy your new ride!!!

Thanks everyone. I wasn't implying anything could be wrong with it or there's anything sinister going on. Just curious why it would end up with a MD dealer if it belonged to a KS dealer. Who knows. Not a big deal. Just curious.

Not that unusual, dealers trade pretty far distances all the time if they need something in return. That dealer may have needed a particular car for a customer and thrown the camaro in as a package deal. The dealership i work at trades with other dealers pretty often, they usually do it as package deals with some cars that are really easy to sell and maybe some that have been around a while.
