Exclamation Need Help!! TCI Torque Converter question?

Found a good deal on a TCI TORQUE CONVERTER, but really dont know if I should buy it yet. Does anybody have one? Was it worth it? I read that TCI really is not the best one to get. If yall can offer me any input I would greatly appreciative it.

Are you sure it's for a Gen5 Camaro, that price seems more like what earlier converters sell for not the ones for our cars

Yes it is for the 5th generation camaro, the guy selling it has a 2010 camaro but was decided to go a different route. It is the new CONVERTER FOR GM 6L80E street fighter. Just didnt know if a torque converter is good for my vehicle, they say that TCI converters heat up the transmission and eat up gas more and have problems in general. Does anybody have any insight on this.

The street fighter will fail and take your trans withit in all likelyhood. Their billet unit for $850-$900 will be a good match, but if you want the quickest for the $ PM me and I can have a custom one built for much less. You will see .5-.7 seconds improment in 1/4 mile ET guaranteed (traction dependant of course).

Any of the restalled stock units just cant hold up to any hard driving or added power.

I have no first hand experience but from what little I've seen on here. Avoid it. You're better off waiting and spending the money for a really good one. Your tranny will thank you.

It is only a Good Deal if it Works.

Aftermarket converters Need Custom Tuning, The Days are gone where you can just throw any converter and and go have fun.

It affects the upshift MPH which must be calibrated to each converter.

Higher quality converters do not need special tuning, Like the Protorque JRE converters we sell, Custom to each combination.

Ted.

Just spend the extra dough on a Yank and never look back. You get what you pay for with a convertor, not a part to skimp on with an expensive tranny.
