Just so you don't blame all the dealers.

Alot of dealers are marking up the price for their Camaros. Trying to make a quick buck yes. However, I've seen some posts about dealers buying Camaros from lots that have closed down. For those Camaros the price will have to be marked up. Most these dealers that are selling off their Camaros are selling them to the other dealer at or above sticker. No holdback, no invoice pricing, the buying dealer has to buy the car at the sticker price. Therefor, the dealer will have to sell the Camaro a little higher. Just some FYI for you guys so you dont think all these dealers are evil.

A dealer that pays over invoice for a car needs their head examined just as much as a customer paying over msrp. These ARE mass produced cars!

This isn't true for the vast majority of markups I'm sure. Many dealers purchase from another with the sole intention of applying a large markup; not just dealerships that are closing down.

I spoke to someone at Faulkner-Ciocca chevy in Q-town last week, and they have a 2SS/RS there for $44K !!!!!
That did not include tax, dealer adv charge, inventory charge, or anything else. They said it was because they bought it from auction from a dealer that went under.

My question is, why do the dealers think that the normal market laws do not apply to these cars? I know they are in demand, but you can still walk right in and order the car to your specs from a dealer that wont upcharge you, so why would you buy the one they have that has a "market adjustment" charge of over $4000?.
If the dealer paid too much for a car that sucks, but its not my problem.

Exactly! Dealers don't "have to" buy cars from other dealers in the first place. Mentality is they think people would rather pay $5000 more and have the car now, versus waiting. Summer is over anyway! The snow will start to fly in a few short months, why pay a premium now for this car? When it first came out in the spring I could totally understand, but that is over with now.

The girlfriend played soccer this morning, it was 13C with a cold, raw wind. I had two sweaters on and still had to sit in the car! It's the 30th of August for FU*K sakes, WTF? I couldn't believe how cold it was, I have never experienced this before. We live near Windsor BTW.

^^ That is sad. I have been complaining about the 90F heat, and have been relieved that its been only in the 80s the last few days, haha.
I guess I should shut my mouth before a gust of freezing cold air gets in it, haha.

Dude im with you on that. At the air show in Breslau it was freaking cold. By half way in of the show everyone was leaving it was too dam cold. Sure makes my decision to wait next year much easier since i would be parking this car soon anyways.

The problem is....and this is your answer...... Some people with tons of money and zero brains will pay for it....

There is a good and bad to this though,
The good....
It will keep the resale value high on the camaro for a long time.... and make it easier to finance one used in the future...
The bad,
Many dealers will continue to see the trend and decide to follow the trend

true, with the way those yahoos are shelling out money for the camaro.. I am not upside down on the car when I drive it off the lot.
oh, and to the guys up by the north pole...
It was 98* down here, with a heat index of 105*. Yesterday..
I was at a party yesterday where they had a water slide, was soaked to the bone, and somehow I was still sweating my butt off. ...
