Build a lid for Roto-Fab intake?
I see the ADM and CAI intakes producing a bit more power than the non-boxed intakes. Do you think its strictly because they are inclosed? If so do you think it would be worth it to fabricate a sheet metal lid for non-enclosed CAI's such as rotofab? You could even get fancy and make a little window.
Id imagine it woudnt be too hard to make if you had a nice bandsaw and sheet metal brake. What'ca think? |

I already sell a lot of Roto-Fab intakes because of their impeccable quality, fitment and performance results. There are few who use a TRUE injection process. With that in mind, why does the Roto-Fab need a lid? It already is designed to seal off to the hood, which is an equivalent effect in my opinion. Regards |

Thos eiwth the Roto-Fab installed will tell you it does seal pretty well. You can even see the lines on the hood blanket from the seal. They make a tremendous intake. |

+1 I am also very happy with my RotoFab. I like being able to see the filter exposed when you open up the hood, it just looks better to me. Not to mention, the product is made very well and you can tell right when you take it out of the box.

You can see the marks where it seals to the hood on mine, and if I shine a light in back of the air box itself, you can't see any light shining through.
The roto-fab seals just fine, and we aren't talking about like a 20 HP difference, more like a 3-4 HP difference. That difference could be from something as simple as a slightly different angle on a bend. And personally, I think it looks kinda cool when I pop the hood, but I am a bit biased |
