Drive Shaft issues
I just bought a 2011 SS with an LS3 and 6 speed manual, cars been mildly built with a stage 3 cam and supporting mods, its making 490whp and ive heard the driveshafts are known to blow around 5-600 HP so im looking to see what brands are recommended to replace the OEM ones and if theres anything else i should worry about replacing. I dont plan on making much more power with the car for now but if theres anything prone to breaking on them around this power level id like to go ahead and get to it before it does break. Thanks in advance for the help.

Last month I installed a Driveshaft Shop 3.5 inch 1 piece in my L99, cammed, TSP Stage 3 and 3200 converter and boy let me just say, I wish I had done this mod long ago!! She revs up so much quicker now and gets up to speed quicker and is totally vibration free all the way up to 147mph now !! I love it..Bought that one cause it only had about a 1 week lead time, actually got it in 3 days!! But the G-Force one had a 10 week lead time. Stock one really sucks. The DS unit is balance up to 8k...

Dudes, been in the driveshaft business 45 years. I must admit, I have NOT driven a car with a carbon fiber shaft. My company is just breaking into this product. Yes, the stock 2-piece unit has had some issues - like a weak center bearing. I’m going to reserve judgment on just how ‘awesome’ a CF shaft can be. They are expensive and I’m guessing you WANT to feel like you made the right choice.
Maybe a ZL1 upgrade? Requires different trans/diff flex coupling yokes. I’d say service the stock one and you’d probably get some good mileage out of it. New flex disks and center bearing.

Go with Driveshaftshop, they are right here in NC, Salisbury.
I made the mistake of going with G Force. They sent the wrong instructions, I incurred an additional $270 in costs as a result, they blamed it on the installer and hung up on me. The axles are also prone to breaking due to wheel hop on hard launches, changing the toe/links and trailing arms reduces it. BMR or LSR have good products and service.

What kind of problems will surface if the center bearing goes bad? Trying to isolate a noise somewhere in the driveline on my 2010 SS with 23,000 miles
