That 26hp extra really has little benefit in and of itself. The manual weighs less with different gearing and has less overall powertrain loss and still manages to barely beat an L99.

Power for power. The L99 gives more off the line and in the early going due to the VVT low end torque.

That 26hp gap also tends to slightly narrow with the same mods and tune.

In every race i have ever had heads up with a similar LS3 stock or evenly modded i have never lost by more than .3 but, have won plenty by more than .5

It really is up to what car you want.

I have driven and raced both. I would be happy enough with either choice.

Lastly, if you opted for an A6 don't stop at the motor tune. Get that tranny tuned as well. It is night and day difference once tuned
