It had 320-340whp and full bolt-ons and I believe it was tuned as well, car was strip down besides passenger seat, and I'm running CAI, exhaust, kooks headers (untuned) and my is a LS3, we raced off of a roll in 2nd gear and he beat me by 1/2 car to maybe 1car length, if I tune my car and get a TB will it be enough to beat him or no? What else can I do n no I can't afford a supercharger or turbo or nitrous. No one say driver mod cause I was shifting on point.
His power to weight ratio is his biggest asset. Putting out 330ish whp means he's probably got some decent tq as well. The issue is, his tq is gonna be higher up in the rpm range than you. What you'll need is more tq sooner. Seeing that you were that close, i'd say most of the good bolt-ons would put you right there. That means headers, good intake, ported TB, UDP, and a good tune. Removing weight would also be a good idea when you're going to the races.

The problem is that your car isn't IOM. Do you have enough stickers? Might check that too.

Try getting some shorties and putting a K&N filter between them and the factory midpipes. That should give you the boost you need due to the backpressure.

If anything man you can do smaller mods like axis stated. A VMAX ported TB and IM combo helps along with an UD pulley and tune. All that will be way cheaper than a cam.

That's what I hoping for, so I have a VMax TB on the way in 2weeks and hopefully in the next 3-4months I can drive to pheonix n get my car dyno tuned and ill see what happens then but thanx for all the advice guys

I am in a REALLY sour mood tonight after another round of fruitless car disassembly. I'm thinking I might have to bust out the gin and tonic!
