I noticed some dealers are doing false advertisements..

After reading that thread a few pages back about some guy buying a LT/RS that slapped on some RS badges.

It seems like that dealer isnt the only one, I came across an camaro about an hr away from me listed as an LS for 31K and has some RS Badge on the rear..

what gives? 31K for a LS?

heres the autotrader link:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb

before you bash, i aint planning onto getting that one, i know what the RS includes and the options on a LT but i cant believe theyre asking 31k for a LS

I think someone posted that link already. But i know what you mean. I constantly see automatics advertised as a "Corvette LS3 Engine with 426HP!!" and thats coming from dealerships that can easily check a VIN and know everything about a car. Its just poor attention to detail on their part. Its very irritating.

The big thing here and difference between the one I have is that the dealer is selling/labelling it as a LS and that is all.

That one is just overpriced. I don't see where they are claiming it is a RS.

It has the RS badge on the trunk, but says nothing about RS in the ad.

By the looks of it they arent "claiming" its an RS in words but in the picture of the rear of the car, it has RS badging. In this case, I would think when a dealer takes something in on trade, they would screen the cars a little better to prevent mis-advertising like this. On the note, this thing is WAY OVERPRICED!. I paid just over 20k for mine brand new. I hope some poor guy doesnt get suckered in that car.

The wheels, grill and spoiler didn't come free. That can add up pretty quickly. At least these folks are not claiming it is anything but an LS. No Harm, No Foul!

I paid less than that for my 2011 1SS/RS, and with only 300 miles on it.

This is true but lets be real even car review shows do it. They are driving a ls99 acting like it's the ls3. What really gets me is when they are doing that comparing to a mustang 302! Drives me crazy, because the are not giving the camaro a true shot. So they can say what they really wanna say, of course not being objective journalists. Not down talkin the ls99 i own one but everyone does it. As for car dealers doing this why is this suprising? If you know your stuff you are not going to get taken, so no need to worry. Let some other sucker who doesn't do their homework get a homerun hit on em.
