The camaros don't seem to get much respect. So GM brought out the new Camaro and with all the hype and made it only as fast as a GTO. Weird ......mixed comments here have me thinking not. Just wish I could run one to find out but they were not allowed into Canada for some reason that I'm forgetting. I've have seen one on the street recently so I don't know if the ban has been lifted.

Had to share my $0.02. Hated to see my GTO go. Believe it or not bone stock 04/M6 the best I got out of it was 13.60 @ 102mph. I did see a lot at that time going thru the traps @ 14.00 n slower. I guess I knew my car very well

Currently have a 13 M6 SS with headers and suspension as well as an 05 M6 GTO with headers, cam, intake, suspension and a few other things. The GTO will walk the Camaro, but that's to be expected.

Back when the Camaro was stock, I also had a nearly stock 06 GTO. They felt nearly the same in the speed dept.

I love both the Camaro and the GTO equally for what they are.

I also had a m6 04 GTO, my times were similar, mid 13's 104-105 mph all stock but a k&n filter. Saw in an earlier post that some one said that 4th gen camaros & firebirds where smoking the ls1 GTO, would have to disagree had my GTO for 9 yrs & never had an issue with them or the 4.6 mustangs. Will have to say my 15 1LE does feel a lot like the GTO just updated & more power.

4th gen's in general will not smoke an LS1 GTO. LS1 (and especially 01-02) F-bodies will beat an LS1 GTO all day everyday with equally competent drivers.
