To me it seems like a personal preference issue. It all comes down to how much it bothers you. If you don't mind it for now then just leave it, then later down the road when you start doing mods, getting more aggressive with the car just have it tuned out. If it doesn't get in your way then don't waste the money on an eliminator for now. On the other hand if you get to the point where you can't stand it, use it as an excuse to get some mods and a tune to get rid of it!

Order from apex. Use the SKIP9 coupon code. Best benefit/$ mod on my car. My exhaust sounded terrible in 4th at 18mph.
I should have done this at day one of ownership. Also only took 20 min or so to install. Absolutely worth it.

Get the skip shift eleminator done ASAP. Sooner or later it's going to kick in just as a traffic is bearing down on you (I know this first hand). Not only is it annoying, it's completely unsafe. At 18MPH in 4th gear the car cannot get out of its own way. It's by far the worst "feature" in automotive history. Get it done now.

Just shift above the threshhold. I have two of the skip shift eliminators sitting in a box. The wires pushed out of one of them. I pulled if off, fixed the connector, and never bothered putting it back on. In 30k miles I don't think it's caught me off guard more than a handful of times.

Sooner or later skip shift is going to get you. It's not a question of whether or not this will happen, just a question of when. If you are unlucky, you can have a close call ... or worse.

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...
that goes for guns, too. $10 - $2.50 S/H on Ebay BTW |

I had CAGS tuned out on my ride and I do not miss it one bit! If you do not ever intend to have a tune done, I would get the skip shift eliminator in a heartbeat, otherwise wait to do it in a tune. The nice thing there, the skip shift display never even comes up on my DIC (I hear it still does with the device).

If its not a huge bother, don't waste your money. If it happens every now and then, double clutch into 2nd and it'll let you. 4th at that speed is retarded

The forced 1-4 shift bothered me a few times so I bought the skip shift eliminator. Worked great but now I have a tune so I don't need it anymore. I will probably remove it next oil change.
