Have you seen the maxim top ten muscle cars list? Now is the time for your voice to be heard! Add to this thread and list YOUR all time favorite muscle car from back in the day! Fullsizers , ponies, sport cars , if it has four wheels and goes fast, put it on our list. Let's show Maxim we know a lot more about fast cars then some doofus in an outdated rag of a mag! Remember, stock form and dealer prep vehicles please! No gen 5's also, just back in the day muscle!!

I have to go GTO as well. My inlaws have had their 1967 GTO since new and I am now restoring it for them. It is a piece of art and history. The lines are very sexy and the sound and power reminds you of what a real musclecar is supposed to be....that and being rough around the edges (no A/C, no power amenities, etc) is the visceral experience you cannot replace.

1969 Oldsmobile 442 W-30. It's different, but one bad ass machine. My dad always tells me about his 69 W-30 he bought back in the day. That is where I will put my vote to be a bit different.

Otherwise I would say 70 Chevelle LS6 lol

I always had a soft spot for the 1968 4-4-2. The 1969 is noteworthy as it started the divided grill design theme for Oldsmobile until the end. 1970 was popular as it could be had with the 455ci Rocket V-8. Before that the only way to get anything larger than a 400ci in an intermediate was to get a Hurst/Olds.

A little biased here, but, I have to go with my first car, the Boss 429 Mustang. I posted a pic earlier in this thread. IMO, the 1969 Boss 429 is the best looking Mustang ever. Here is a quote from the attached article/link.
"Killer looks, ground-pounding engine, limited production, and high dollar resale, the 1969 Boss 429 is one of the best looking muscle cars on the planet"

I vote for the last muscle car of that era in the most bad ass factory color scheme of all time

1973 Trans Am 455 Super Duty

252 SD's produced. Only 72 4-speed
146 Brewster green Trans Am produced and 7 were SD

310 HP, 390 lb-ft
Four-bolt main block
Forged steel connecting rods
Forged aluminum pistons
Cam had the same specs as the 744 used in the R/A III
Round port heads were similar to the R/A-IV but flowed 10 cfm more

0-60 mph: 5.1 s
1/4 mile: 13.5 s

http://fastestlaps.com/models/pontia...455-super-duty

The party was over but Pontiac didn't quit. RIP Pontiac
