The spider gears failed...NOT the 3.91 gear...the chunks from the spider gears then grenaded the rest inside...I love this gear, makes a big difference in the car...it feels like a slug without it right now (still have the loaner 3.45 rear end in)...as far as what I am going to do, I am going to re use my case and put a new 3.91 in and a Eaton TruTrak inside it for now...then eventually I am going to upgrade to a 9 inch or hammerhead or gforce, etc, not sure what one yet.

Holy crap Sam! You got some real bad luck with the differential! Thats bad! Hope you can get the right parts to withstand that kind of torque for the new rebuild! Saw the youtube video. Wish it didnt happen on ya! Good luck with the rebuild sam! - Joe

Thank you I wish it wouldnt have broken right away...I coulda showed some of these guys a thing or two about drag racing... I love launching and shifting this car! You have the TrueTrac? I am excited to see how it feels and holds up...RPM upgraded my bushings to polyurethane also which is a noticeable difference. and Mike, I am putting in the LPE 3.90 gear, and Eaton TrueTrac and see what happens...if the wheel hop is still there I will downgrade the axles to level 4s instead of level 5s...idk yet Last edited by CamaroGirl5; 08-09-2012 at 11:50 PM. |
