Yes 388. Started big and worked backward - arrived at 388. With a different cam profile the engine has an insane redline...but we would give up economy and low end efficiency.

It's my understanding that Bruce's tires are custom made, and will have spikes in them that actually dig into the concrete as they go down the track.

Cool. Were hoping to make it to Twin Falls ID the first day, weather and roads permitting. That only leaves 600 and change left for Wednesday and put us in Vegas late afternoon. Most of the CDN West Convoy is leaving a couple days early. Sooooooo just the three of us till we hit Vegas. El Diablo out front with the jammer, should be hauling A$$ once the roads are dry.

Oh now you have really peaked my interest with the 388 ci, 1450 hp. Not to thread jack I have a 383 ci stroker going into Mr Hyde, supposed 425hp. GM crate motor. 5 less ci and 1000 less hp Hmmmmmm I must have missed something.

Seriously, I definitely want to pick you brain about how to increase power numbers. I am even more amazed I thought this was some 427, 502, 572 ci beast.

Are you kidding me ? THR22 kicks butt !!

Besides, even at high boost setting the pull only had 8 psi at 3500. Heavy boost didn't hit until around 4700/4900.

Have asked for some tuning help from Pete when we get there. This thing is going to be so green at the track it's gonna puke ! But...with some expert suspension tuning it'll be good to see how hard we can plant those 345 MT's.

425 hp from a 383 stroker is a great number !! Very nice for Mr. Hyde.

Not to jack the thread, but others have seen this before, This is closer to what you eluded to above. 540 ci, F-2 Procharger.

Dude! that's even cooler!!!! Max boost for me is about 6.5 lbs.... Meanwhile... SST at 8 pounds at less than half the RPM makes more Crank HP than I do... And my car has all the power I could need..... for now....

Bruce man that is way f'n cool!!!

The first couple of readings usually have an * next to an rpm. We set the dyno runs to start at 3500, so there is usually not sufficient load/data to have good numbers until after that rpm since the dyno is applying load and spooling up. Not just on this engine, but others, if the dyno map started at say 3000 then you usually have a higher number at say 3500 since it has built boost through the power band. On this one you will actually see the TQ is higher on the 15 psi or 18 psi pull versus the 28 psi pull at 3600 because it started the pull just a fraction of a second earlier and had just a little more boost at that rpm.
