[QUOTE=67 GTO;1058959]Ok, I received and installed my Airaid intake yesterday and Fed Ex also had my Matrix Accelerometer onboard. It's been raining here the last few days but stopped late last nite so I thought I'd give my new toys a try this morning on my A6.

Roads were damp with a temp of 43 degrees and 70% humidity. First two runs showed 5.8 and 5.7 on a start from idle and mashing the pedal. Tires spun on the damp road and there seemed to be a slight hesitation at launch.

Well I thought that's pretty good in these conditions and i'll give it a try later in the week when the weather is supposed to clear.

On the way home I decided to give it one more shot on a on level on-ramp to a well paved and relatively dry by-pass.

This time I loaded it up to about 1.5k rpm, released the brake and briskly and steadily ran thru the throttle. No hesitation this time with little spin.

I like my new intake! I'll try later in the week and hope to see the same 4.98.

WOW...That's a great run...

Did you disconnect the battery or pull the #5 & #20 fuses after you installed the Airaid...?

I guess you have the 19" tires...?

Do you have the Stock exhaust...?

Thanks, the car sounded and felt great. I followed the instructions and just disconnected the negative, no fuse pull. If I got a CEL, I would have done that.

I have the GMPP axle back but didn't figure it for any gains although they probably flow better than the turns going thru the stock suitcases. lol.

I'm very interested in some shorty headers at some point. I'll wait and see.

Wicked awesome.

I still think the best tire setup for the V6 is one similar to what I'm considering.

I'll be using 18 inch wheels (either the 1LT wheels or a lightweight forged one if I can find a style I like) at 8.5 inch width, and Nitto NT555 tires at 265/50/18 size.

Should make for light weight, good grip, and reasonable all weather performance.

How accurate? Don't know but my 5 second run felt much better than the 5.8 runs. Better launch and it felt great.

I'll be doing more runs and see how the Matrix records.

I'll be going to the track at some point to get a better time for my car.

I made the first passes with the IPhone app "Dynolicious" and didn't get such good results. Setup weight is 4000 lbs for these runs.

The only mod, so far, is the MRT axle back exhaust.

Weather was 70 degrees, 1012mb pressure, damp conditions.

Runs were with premium gas (full tank) sport mode, and no TC.

I used both the "stall" and the "flash" techniques for launches and the flash seemed to work best. Best runs (in sport mode with manual shift) were when shifted at 6400 RPM. The shift lagged to about 6800 before engaging the next gear.

Here's the installation:

Best 0-60:

Best 1/4 mile:

These times are all "unconfirmed" until they are backed up at the track with accurate times sheets....

I'm fairly happy with the performance so far... it'll get better as I mod the car.

I want to try it on the bike but I haven't found a mount yet.

humid and 70... not the best conditions... what's your elevation? Oh.. and converted MB to inches... 29.65... eeeewww... that's low! So i would say your times are probably pretty close given those conditions...

Elevation is less than 20 ft. I did find an issue (possibly) with the calibration of the accelerometers. I guess your supposed to cal it in the same condition as the test run. Apperantly, the sensors in the IPhone are temp sensitive. I calibrated the unit a couple of days ago in warmer weather. I guess a re-run will be in order!

PS... still trying to find a (cheap) converter app that does MB to in Hg.

A couple days ago I did 2, 0 to 60 runs . using my matrix acceleromiter.
I added two magnaflow 6'' round mufflers in place of stock ones.
My times were 6.37 and 6.35 sec. These times were better than with stock mufflers by more than 1 tenth of a sec. The initial launch is what seemed quicker.
My stock times were around 6.5 on average for 3 runs. In a couple days I'll add the airaid and do a couple runs with it, and post.
Thanks
Ron

I found about the same Gain ( app.1 tenth of a sec.) after I installed my MRT axle-back exhaust.

I will be looking forward to see what gain you get with your Airaid.
I still didn't get my Airaid, but I also will post any gains I get when I install it.
