Popping out of 6th gear - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Just as the title says, went to the strip last night Friday, and my first run, car in launch mode, clutch stayed at the floor, wheels still spinning.

Anyways, no problems after that. Today while riding around put the car in 6th gear at around 60mph and it jumps out, put it back does it again, third time was a charm stayed.

Later on that day it happened one more time. Got home checked the brake/clutch fluid, really dark (should have took some pics). Started the process I have read about before of sucking out the old and putting new in.

Anyways, my question is, What could be causing this?????

The 6th gear syncro sounds like it is damaged (missing a gear or shiftting fast and the clutch engaging at the point the gear is not fully engaged will do this in an instant), and I'm will to bet the shift fork got bent a bit. Common issue as the shift forks are not hardend and a forced, or hard hift can bend them.

This should be covered under warranty IMHO.
