Miracle of miracles, I'm off the rig...
I have to give credit where credit is due... In this case, it's BP that stepped up and took care of it... If I had waited for the other company to handle it, I would still be on the rig until Monday at the earliest..... The BP safety Consultant and the BP Company man took it upon themselves, called the BP office in Houston, and told what was going on... And the BP big bosses called the other company and read them the riot act... In oilfield vernacular, the tore some asses up... And then signed not one, but signed one and submitted two MOCs management of changes, and submitted them up the chain... Someone in BPs office said it would be today before they could get the necessary signatures, and the company man told them to get it taken care if yesterday so I could leave this am or they could send a chopper out for him as well... So my new relief who hasn't been to the required extra classes was flown out this am and I left the rig... Thank You Mr. Steve, Well Site Leader, BP Americas, and Allen, BP safety consultant... I'm in Metarie Louisiana waiting to hear back from claims if my deposition will be today, I hope, or tomorrow morning... It really doesn't matter to me at this point since I'm off the rig... I'll go sleep the day away and then drive home tomorrow... As long as I get home in time for the A&M bowl game... Deb is recording it just in case...
