I just got an email from a friend that his Neiman Marcus Camaro convertible (details: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109197) is built (has the VIN) and is on it's way.

I know it's been a while since we've heard anything about these but they should start to show up soon.

Of course, as soon as I see it, pics will be posted.

Its a tradition from their Christmas Catalog extending back to 1970 but hasn't been done pretty regularly until 1995 for manufacturers to create buzz around a new model. Usually they have special colors or combinations, and for the past 8 years they have usually been luxury cars like BMWs, Jaguars, and Lexus, they had a Ducati once as well.

Every Christmas for over 100 years the catalog has tons of "normal" overpriced stuff as well as some extremely extravagant "special edition" gifts, cars being one of them. They have had a horse farm, a golf course designed by Jack Nickalus, Virgin Galactic trip, IndyCar Simulator, a Suit of Armor, and more. Its crazy really.

They had a NM limted edition Bell 430 helicopter one year. I got to ride in it and it was EXTREMELY nice. Not worth the price but nice nonetheless.
