Steering wheel adjustment

Hi I've been trying to get my steering wheel to mu perfect position. I was wondering, how high does the wheel telescope? I try to get it as high as I can and I'm wondering if there are "catches" from within where it can lock its position? Is it bad or damaging to tilt the wheel up too high?

It will only move just so far, and it won't hurt anything to lock it in where you like it.

the range of motion it has from the factory isnt going to damage it, altering past that is basically impossible.

No, there are no notches for adjustment like older cars. The adjustment motion in these columns has a low point and a high point, and you can set it anywhere inbetween.

Your seat and steering column should be adjusted so that when you're seated comfortably upright, having your arms extended straight out should put the insides of your wrists on the outer edge of the wheel. Also, the airbag should be aimed basically inside your belly button and nipples, if you were to draw a triangle on your body. This is the most ergonomic position for visibility and safety. Having your airbag pointed too high or two low will reduce effectiveness and potentially cause greater injury.
