The MGW shifter comes with three very thick and dense pieces of foam that you drop over the shifter.

MGW has some very thorough install youtube videos you should watch before you buy their shifter. It will give you an idea of how involved the install is, and what all it's replacing.

I'd do it again, absolutely. This noise issue is more noticeable on some cars than others, don't think any one brand will guarantee 100% quiet. Its more the car than their product. But the product is a more direct connection to the drive train, so for short throw performance and enjoyment...I think they are all great!!
I got a Hurst just for the old school look, but ended up much happier with it than I thought I'd be.

I have LG Motorsports short throw shifter and I absolutely love it. I can't imagine having to go back to the stock setup. Mine definately does vibrate more than the stock shifter but I can deal with that. I'm sure you'll be happy no matter what manufacturer you choose.
