1 SS -- 2 SS

I was thinking of getting a SS camaro and was wandering is their much of a diff between the 400hp and the 426hp as far as get up and go, all around gas mileage, and if so what are they?

The 426hp is the LS3 engine that comes with a standard transmission only. The 400hp is the L99 engine which has the automatic transmission. The L99 does have Active Fuel Management, but it doesn't really make a huge difference. It's all in your preference, whether you prefer driving stick or auto. I'd personally go with the LS3 as i like driving stick, but it depends on your circumstances. There both fast cars, it's just drivers preference.

These engines have nothing to do with the 1SS or 2SS models. The 2SS has leather and some other goodies where as the 1SS has cloth and less features.

Hope this helps

If I may add my two cents: Don't use the term "gas mileage" when buying a sports car, especially an SS.
If you LOVE the car enough to consider buying it, the rest need not apply.
BUY IT, AND ENJOY...YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

I don't like leather seats so the choice was limited to a 1SS. I just added everything else that I wanted to the car. I ended up with basically a 2SS with cloth seats. Had to wait for it to be built (6 weeks), but I got what I wanted.

Something to think about when buying if you want cloth seats. Buy a 2SS and have the dealer install the cloth front seats.

Or buy the 2SS and install cloth seats from a wreck or sale on C5 from a modded car.

Keep your seats in the attic and when you sell the car it will look like new.

Thanks for the reply`s,
(Don't use the term "gas mileage" when buying a sports car, especially an SS.)
The reason I mention mileage , If I buy it, I will drive year round just like my LT.
