As people have already said, it is a great mod! It doesn't give a lot of actually HP to the wheels, but it sure does change the seat dyno! The quicker throttle response is the best part of this mod. Worth every penny! You won't be disappointed.

When my wife starts working again, I'm going to definitely look into this as well. I was talking to Ted Jannetty and he was saying if I buy it from him, he will upgrade my tune for the VMAX. He also said it makes a lot of difference on lag.

I understand what this does, but why do people "send in" there throttle body? Why don't you just buy a new one? it's a straight bolt on, right?

Does it void the warranty?

You can buy a new one and keep your old one, but it's more expensive. Usually around $350. If you send in your old one, they will credit you back $200 for the "core", so net cost is around $150. Your old one will just sit on a shelf anyway.

As far as I know this does not void your warranty. Much like a CAI.

Basically they are taking the old cores and porting those. The one you get will most likely be a recycled throttle body. From what I understand the throttle body will not be covered under warranty anymore but nothing else is affected.

You can mod anything you want in your vehicle. As long as that mod is not what directly caused the warranty issue, the dealership has to honor the warranty.

A new throttle body would be more expensive and would not be machined to the specs the VMAX is. The reason people "send in" their throttle bodies is for a quicker turn around time on the product. I don't know how much faster it is for us in Canada, but the turn around in the US has been greatly reduced by people sending in their throttle bodies to have them done.

One of the reasons it take so long to receive one of these is they are high demand items and slow return on cores from people who have received their VMAX.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. Just looked and it's 12:59am. LOL
