That's my guess. Wanted to be an a$$ and that's what he found.

Well I have the spectrum tests for both front and rear markers now. AAC had them and other members did as well. The tests are high tech formulas and all, but the end point is it shows the front markers are 99.6% Amber.

It depends on the officer and safety inspection site. Color aside, they should be reflective and DOT approved, otherwise, "for off-road use". That's how they'll initially get you. Then, you play the switch-a-roo game. He may be getting picky, but at least he just warned you.
I'm surprised they're not cracking down on blue or red light on cars or dark tints. |

I've been thinking the past few days about what the officer said to me. He actually said my front lights were ok. So I'm wondering instead of my Halo's maybe he meant my front sidemarker. I do realize they don't reflect and are suppose to, this is why majority of the time I drive with them on.
The humorous thing about all of this is the rear sidemarkers on cars are supposed to be red by law. |

Well first of all its nice to see some new faces on this thread (newb, spacecowby) you guys should come out to our weekly meets some time.
But Haole most officers wont care about the side markers similar to tint/recon so i would just blow it off and don't worry about it. I think if you had your amber front halo's on that might be it cause considering red/blue front lights are illegal if the cop did not get a good look of it he might call you out on it. I just wouldn't worry about it. |

Earlier this year, a very popular alignment shop in Aiea got off probation for Safety Inspection violation. Customer installed illegal tint after safety check. Since illegal, cash transaction with no receipts, customer couldn't help shop with evidence. City didn't care and said shops always say customer did it after, too bad. Shop didn't want to fight it and call more attention. Lex Brodie and many of the main stream guys probably got cited already.
Hell, I had to take off a clear plastic license plate cover from my wife's totally domestic car when I took it in a few years ago. Shop made me take it off before they would continue. *d!ck* That's what I get for forgetting to renew and going to just anyplace. If your car really stands out(illegal wise), inspectors and/or cops will note and go after car/shop. You probably gotta be doing something really stupid for them to go out of their way to cite your car. Funny thing, I've seen many cops with the safety sticker using the license center vertical plate mount. Since the shop is suppose to put the stickers on the car, not the owner, this is a clear violation. In the end, HI is a small State and word gets around quick whether you like it or not. I wonder what Recon and Safety Inspection sites would do if this came in... |

Hey everyone. I'm finally going to have a decent break from deployments. Coming back home to Oahu here soon. Is there anything going on between now and March?

Has anyone changed out their cabin air filter? If so did you get the filter locally?
