L99 Burning Smell At WOT

Is it common to have a burning smell at WOT?

At WOT I've noticed a faint burning smell a couple times (i've only opened it up maybe 4 times). Is this normal?

2600+ Miles, mods are Spectre Intake, Borla ATAK Catback, Oil Catch Can.

The burning smell is along the lines of a lube/oil or a rubber (no not my tires lol).

I'm going to check tomorrow to make sure the Catch Can is installed correctly, I had someone else install it last Saturday.

Also, neither the ac or the heat was on at the time.

I love the smell of a new exhaust, but this system has been on for a few weeks.

Its a pretty faint smell, I may do some WOT pulls this weekend getting on the highway to see if it happens again and possibly identify the smell better.

Haha, I actually smelled it last blowing some Acura away (TSX I think), I think it was some young guy about my age trying to punk me, so I taught him a lesson in knowing his place getting on the highway.

I've had a bad cold or something and haven't felt like checking the Catch Can, will probably do it tomorrow.

After a week of use and about 200 miles - 250 miles, it appears the catch can is doing its job. I checked it today and there is roughly (eyeballing it) 2 tablespoons of oil in it.

Is this excessive? Ive had 1 maybe 2 WOT pulls since having the catch can installed.

At about 2600 miles on my Camaro, this makes me wish I had the catch can installed sooner.
