It has a +/- next to D so when you are in manual mode you can use the stick shifter instead of the paddles if that's your preference. I'm guessing that's the logic there.

Yep, one of the reasons sports car enthusiast do not buy acuras. Got to have a stick, manual or auto. E brake is as far a they take the Camaro.

Yeah I think there is a lot more to why sports car enthusiasts don't buy Acuras, think the least is the lack of a shifter of some sort.

...some sports car enthusiasts buys Acuras...
And frankly, on an auto, I'd rather not have a stick! Paddle shifters have got to be there though, gotta be able to flip through the gears, that's fun!

I could be wrong but it looks like up shifting is pushing forward and downshifting is pulling back. I hate that. It just seems illogical to me. I've always liked it the opposite as the inertia seems to make more sense the other way. Accelerate and pull back, decelerate and push forward.

But like you said, to each their own. Just personal preference. Last edited by Eric SS; 09-20-2015 at 01:37 PM. |

My M37x has that, push the stick forward to go up a gear, pull it back to go down a gear. I don't think I've been in a car that it's been any other way. Although I seem to remember driving my uncles P-car that had paddle shifts, but one side was up and the other side was down, that seemed pretty odd.

Dodge and BMW are the same because they use the same automatic transmissions.
