Finally - starting the mods again.
After lots of reading, thinking and finding a dyno within the a 50 mile radius: parts are on order:
RX TB RX Black ICE-olator Trifecta Tune ARH Headers ARK DTS Exhaust Dyno session is for the morning of the 16th to get a baseline which will be with the Injen Long Tube, MRT 2.0, RX Catch Can, all synthetic fluids and 93 octane. Once the tune is in and tweaked will schedule another dyno session As the little pig in the commercial says: WEEEEE, WEE, WEEEEEEEEE!!!

You should just go in stock tho without the intake so that way you will have a straight up stock number since axle back and catch can doesn't provide any gain. Love seeing different dyno numbers |

Nice Nyrfan!!
This is the first batch of parts - should get some good mid-range increase and get the motor breathing. Hopefully the cams, heads, bottom ends, fuel systems will be on the street by end of summer. Might be able to make enough HP to actually start breaking things. Wonder if a T56 swap is possible?

Yeah, would be great if you could get yourself a completely stock run (CAI removed), but at least starting your dyno runs with the CAI and then with these mods will still give you some good data.
keep this thread updated...I'll be watching.

Injen will be the only mod when we do the baseline so will take the baseline and minus 10 or 11 for the CAI. Don't know anything abut the dyno except it's a Dynojet and it was one of two in Austin, next closest dyno was 90 miles.
TB, ICE-olator and the software portion of the tune are in, rest is on it's way and should be at the shop by the 13th or 14th. Should see some decent gains - will keep the thread updated.

Pretty decent on the dyno today considering humidity was over 50%.
First run 254 hp and 232 tq, 2nd run was 256 hp and 233 tq. Will post the graph later: we're opening the ARK and ARH boxes now.

Not too bad of a start.
So what your plans for dynoing then? Are you going to intall all of the mods...run it for a while and then get another dyno? Or are you going to be doing multiple dynos in between different part installs? Either way, likely a good idea to put plenty of miles on with the new parts and tune and let the car learn. Then take her to a dyno let her rip! Hopefully the temps don't get too hot!!

+ 1 on KMPrenger's advice on giving the mods some time to settle in with the computer.
I like what you're doing here though. I'll be following this thread thanks for giving back to the community!

This is the graph of Run 1 and Run 2. Based on what I've seen of other cars on Dynojets and with the Injen, I had guessed 250 rwhp, so 254 and 256 was a bonus.
After the Dyno session, headed over to the shop and installed the ARH headers, ARK Exhaust, Vmax TB, Black ICE-olator and Trifecta tune. Only thing we didn't get to install was the UEGO gauge and pillar pod: a Tranny shop, Body shop and Auto repair all on the same block and no one had a welder - what has the world come to. Headers and exhaust weren't bad - probably 3 hours: half the time was getting the OEM manifolds off. Biggest time consumer was figuring out how may extensions to use with the air tools. Did the TB in about 5 minutes and the ICE-olator was probably 40 minutes. Half the installation time on the ICE-olator was convincing Chris "just a LITTLE Permatex on top." It was funny. Pleased with the results so far: drove the car around the block for a few minutes checking things out. Off idle response is very crisp and no sluggish feeling as before. Prior to the changes, if you wanted to hustle the car thru traffic, RPMs and keep the shifter moving were necessary. On the way home, cruising about 75mph in 6th, decided to drive around a slower car in the left lane: did the usual of blip the throttle, drop a gear and stand on it. Car jumped forward and I actually lifted off the gas a little - way cool. Throttle response and acceleration between 2500 and 5000 is greatly improved, the flat spot around 2000 rpm is gone: the car just wants to open up and run. Wil drive the car for a few weeks and then do some data logs to let BNR / Vince check to see how things are doing. I'm guessing in the 3000 to 5500 RPM range I'm going to see some nice gains, on peak probably somewhere in the 40 to 45 hp range at the rear wheels. Hopefully next dyno session will break the 300 rwhp which should make a good foundation for the next group of mods. One final comment - I'll be stopping by Wally World later tonight to pick up a crap load of those pine tree air fresheners. New headers have a smell as they are curing but geez - these just smell bad - I think I had my head out the window at one point. All in all, it was a good day....
