Simplest solution IMO is to put a wax or sealant on your rims. Helps a ton. The dust can't stick to the rim as easily.

Did it really completely eliminate it ?

I've had chrome wheels on all my trucks but they don't put out brake dust like the Camaro does...

I might be getting me some aftermarket wheels after all....I'd love to stop all the dust on the wheels !

Performance = brake dust.

The less dust the less stopping power. You can midigate it a bit with ceramics and different calipers and rotors but the formula seems to be the same.

I thought the same thing at first....lol

Do you think the MF towels will scratch the polished wheels wiping off the brake dust ?

I put some Adams Sealant on them and that helped a lot...but I'd still like to keep them shiny longer !

Keeping it out of the rain for 2 months is good and bad.....car doesn't get dirty, but the wheels get covered in Brake Dust.

It's ultimately a losing battle but there are ways to make it better.

I have the same model ss. Got real tired of cleaning the wheels every week. Tried all the remedies and some old wives tales. Waxing the wheels seemed to help until I noticed my chrome was becoming black chrome. At 2500 miles I switched to Hawk Performance ceramic and never looked back. No difference in braking performance for my type of driving. Stick with the semi metallic if you drive agressively or race it.

There is no doubt that ceramics aré amazing for the problem of brake dust. Lexus put them on Bonnies car as a courtesy ítem. I was astonished at the difference.

I drive this car like crazy and have noticed at times the brakes lack the grab I want especially when I have mine and a friends bowling equipment for a tourney. But I also have a cam and still the stock torque converter.

I would do ceramics but only if I upgrade the rotors and calipers. For normal driving should be fine though.

Ceramic Pads will cut the brake dust down. Different brands will perform slightly differently.
