Plasti-dip tail bezels?

I noticed many companies offer painted tail lamp bezels. I just want to go black to compliment my IBM.

Has anyone tried the plasti-dip route with the bezels, or do you guys recommend just keeping it with paint?

Yes, a few people have done it on here. I have no doubt you'll be 100% happy. Don't waste your money paying a company to slap some paint on them.

Plastidip get's really dirty really easily where I live (desert)
so if dust isn't a problem then i wouldn't worry
But it's cheap, its quick, and it's not really a permanent solution

Yea, thats what has turned me onto it.. If I don't like it I can peel, and like hightower said on cost. It baffles me people charge 100-150 to paint a damn bezel. I just got the tail light tint from big worm, so I leaning towards that stealth look all around now....

I guess my only concern now will be if I can get the bezel off without breaking it.

There's a few videos on youtube on how to get them out. Shouldn't be too much trouble.

If you get tired of the plastidip, but still want them black, just throw some rattle can paint on there!

I look forward to seeing how they come out with the tail light tint!

I plastidipped the back part of my trunk, the flat area where the bow tie sits

Once I start this, I will probably black out everything. Looking at high gloss black F14s, black GFX, and replace the chrome on the bowtie with black or a more subdued silver.

Bella and AJP have the tint and bezels on their imperial blues... I believe these are their pics

I did mine with plastidip. Turned out great looking, but the finish on mine is a little rougher than expected. That's because I was very cautious and did light coats and apparently that isn't the way to go. one light coat at the beginning and then glob it on gets a nice smooth finish.

Mine match the factory finish of the plastic, but they do hold onto dust a lot more due to the texture.

finished them up, not bad for a terrible DIY person as I am lol. You cannot tell the tail lamp tint much on the straight shot, but the angle gives a good idea. It is the darkest film available from big worm's website, but at night you cannot tell it is even done and has good transparency.

I didn't go the plastidip method because of how dust and pollen sticks to it. Instead I removed the bevels, sanded them down and used flat black rust oleum paint. No drip marks, very even. I don't know how to upload a pic from iPad but I'll upload one later
