You arent obligated to do anything, Will it suck for them? Potentially but whatever. Why not sell and grab a beautiful V6 bud?

A: your friends don't pay your bills so tell them to suck it. B: If you plan to marry this girl for real. Keep her happy and whatever you choose, do what you can to eliminate her unhappiness. C: no you aren't obligated but, tell them before they come to buy it.

And lastly, the V6 doesn't do that much better on gas to make a huge impact. So might be time to sell regardless. If gas is "killing you" then you need a cheaper and more affordable car period.

You can't live your life according to what your "friends" say. Do what your gut tells you to do. It's only a car afterall.

I traded in my 98 Z28 back in 2001 because my wife said "married/family men don't need sports cars. Yes gas is high but you knew that when you bought it. You may Love your fiance' but supposed is doesn't work out. YOU WILL HATE YOURSELF LATER. Life is too short.

V6 doesn't require high octane. Does it run better on it? Yes. Does it NEED it? No, so yes it's a tad better on the wallet IMHO.

I get 15mpg in my SS...

Gas really doesnt figure into that much cost ever though in my opinion. The difference though is being able to purchase 87 octane and also getting better mpg and pressing the gas pedal less often not listening for that roar. I bet you save more than you think.

Guess its all relative Just trying to help him get better mpg and have a great looking car since thats his concern.

An extra $50 a month in his pocket probably isn't going to do a whole lot.

I get 17.4 nearly every tank 23k miles and NONE of it is hwy miles. Took one hwy trip 2 weeks ago for only the second time this year and got 24mpg hwy. My 3.6 CTS sure didn't do much better nor did the V6's that came on that trip with me.

Show me a V6 that can post hugely better numbers. Dreaming if you really think the V6 does that fantastic on gas.

Thats kind of my point though, how much is gas? 160 a month maybe? when you are talking about numbers that low 50 bucks is a big deal like 30 percent at that number. What is he spending on gas 5000 a month?

Damn man press that loud pedal!

87 octane is already what 30 cents a gallon cheaper? thats 5 bucks a fill up right there plus you get better gas mileage definitely, plus I wouldnt have so many fast starts in a V6 = less fill ups. I still think when we are talking the amount of money someone is spending on gas that yes a V6 is RELATIVELY a good deal cheaper.

Sure but, look at the whole picture. If gas is "killing you" what is $50 really gonna do for someone who is obviously over their head financially. I base that on the fact that he iplies he can barely afford to drive it even in good weather.
